Learning starts at birth, so we start educating at this stage of life as well. At no time will an infant be left alone.

Program features include:

  • Grounded in knowledge of child development and the latest theory and research from the field, and based on what is appropriate for all children.

  • Aligned to Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS).

  • Individual activity plans for each child.

  • Sleeping and eating based on your needs and your baby’s schedule.

  • Safe sleep policies guided by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

  • Group interaction to spark curiosity and socialization.

  • A focus on cognitive and motor skills through playtime and activities.

  • Whole-child development through age-appropriate materials and toys.

Breastfeeding

We will accommodate your desire to breastfeed your child. You may send expressed milk with your child. Milk must be bottled in liquid form, not frozen. If you choose to come to the center, we will make accommodations for you to breastfeed your child.

Please discuss your needs with your Center Administrator so they can ensure we provide the right support for you and your child.

Non-Breastfed Infants

Bottles should be brought to the center each day already prepared. Team members cannot mix formula bottles and cannot add cereal to bottles. Bring prepared the number of bottles your child will drink for the entire day plus one extra. Please do not leave bottles at the center overnight; their contents will be discarded. Due to the potential risk of tooth decay, bottles are not placed with children in cribs.

There will be a charge for a can of formula if it runs out while your child is in our care. Please review your Enrollment Agreement for applicable fees.

Safe Sleeping Standards

Infants sleep according to their needs and the individual plans prepared by you, in cooperation with your child’s teachers. Your Center Administrator will let you know about the required bedding linens and give you information on washing all sleep items.

In keeping with the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics, all infants will be placed on their backs to sleep unless a documented medical condition requires alternate sleeping positions. Except for a pacifier and any required medical devices, we do not allow any items to be placed in the crib. Children will always be supervised during nap and rest times, and lighting in the room will be kept at a level that ensures teachers can always clearly see the child’s face.

Diapering

Infants will be diapered within minutes of soiling their diapers once the teacher is aware. To ensure diapers are changed promptly, teachers will check every hour to ensure they are clean.

You are responsible for providing all wipes and diapers/pull-ups for your child’s care. Please bring enough so they do not run out. Your teacher may remind you to refill, but if you forget, we will provide diapers/pull-ups/wipes for your child’s needs, and a charge will be assessed to your account (diapers $1.50 each, wipes $7.50 per package). Please review your Enrollment Agreement for the diaper/pull-up/wipe charge. We do not borrow from another child’s supply or keep extras on hand—the fee applies every occurrence.
